1832 – present day Register of Electors

Both the Record Office and Library Service hold copies of the Electoral Registers. These annual publications list people in a household who had registered to vote. They are a useful resource for the local historians, and are most frequently used to:

Locate individuals.

Discover how long families had been resident at an address.

Find out the number of people in a constituency, ward or household who were eligible to vote.

Before 1918, they can be an indicator of the economic position of a voter.
