Electoral Registers
(1832 – present day)

These annual publications list people in a household who had registered to vote. There are no electoral registers for 1915 - 1917, and 1941 - 1944. Electoral registers are a useful resource for the local and family historian alike, and are most frequently used to:

· Locate missing individuals

· Discover how long families had been   resident at an address

· Find out the number of people in that     household who were eligible to vote

· Before 1918, they can be an indicator of   the   economic position of the voter.
